Congressman supports teaching music and other arts in
schools

D.C. - Congressman
Gus M. Bilirakis (R-Palm
Harbor)
today issued the following statement on the importance of music in
education:
"Education is the key to the future progress and prosperity
of this country. While reading, writing, and arithmetic form the
foundation for that education, the role that music and other arts play in
developing our children's minds is crucial.
"As a proud parent of children who are actively involved in
music, I have seen first-hand the significant impact this art form has played,
not only in their education, but their lives. I encourage all parents and
educators to help our nation's youth experience the joy of music and all it has
to offer."
