- Congressman Hall Sponsored Lacey as Congressional Guest Chaplain -

Washington, DC - Reverend Dr. Adolphus C. Lacey of Peekskill, New York's Mount Olivet Baptist Church served as Guest Chaplain in the U.S. House of Representatives today. U.S. Representative John Hall (D-NY19) sponsored Reverend Lacey as the Guest Chaplain and gave a speech honoring the pastor on the House floor.

"I am hopeful that his presence and prayer here today will help us in the House to display the same leadership and sense of community that he exhibits every day in the Hudson Valley," said Congressman Hall.

Each Member of Congress is allowed to invite one clergy member every two years from his or her district to serve as Guest Chaplain for the day.

As the Senior pastor at Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Dr. Lacey is affectionately known in the Peekskill community as the "People’s Pastor." He is currently the president of the Peekskill Area Pastors Association and a founding member of Cortland Taskforce on Diversity. He has also served as an adjunct professor in the Philosophy and Religious Studies Department at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY.
