Hall Presents Stony Point Ambulance Corps with Federal Funding
Tuesday, January 15, 2008
Stony Point, NY – U.S. Rep. John Hall (D-NY19) today presented the Stony Point Ambulance Corps with a check representing the $383,186 in federal funding he secured to help them build a new facility.
Hall presented the check to Stony Point Supervisor Phil Marino and members of the Stony Point Ambulance Corps.  The funding that Hall secured was included in the fiscal year 2008 Omnibus Appropriations Act that has passed both Houses of Congress, been signed by the President, and is now officially law.

"Stony Point’s first responders perform an extremely important service to the community," said Hall.  "In an emergency, medical personnel need every tool at their disposal, which is why Stony Point’s first responders need this new, modern facility that will meet emergency medical services standards."

The current emergency medical facility in Stony Point was constructed in 1947 on a small parcel of land.  Though it has served the community well for the last sixty years, it no longer meets emergency medical services standards.  The Ambulance Corps is in need of an upgraded and modernized center which can also be used as a disaster shelter.  The current garage is not sufficiently large enough to fit more modern ambulances, and the Ambulance Corps has been forced to special-order shorter and less adequate trucks.
