Purpose

This Notice is to clarify that only U.S. small businesses that meet the Small Business Administration’s eligibility criteria included in Section III.1.A of the announcement are eligible to participate in this Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funding opportunity. NIH encourages applications from eligible small businesses from Institutional Development Award (IDeA) states. Although Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) institutions are not eligible to apply for this SBIR opportunity, collaborations with these institutions are encouraged.
