Hall Announces New Chief of Staff
Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Carmel, NY – U.S. Rep. John Hall (D-NY19) announced today that Susan Spear, who has served as his District Director since he took office in January 2007, will take on the additional title of Chief of Staff effective January 21st.

Spear succeeds Jean Bordewich, who was Chief of Staff in Hall's first term. Bordewich has been named Staff Director of the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration by U.S. Senator Charles Schumer, the Committee's incoming Chairman.

Spear, who will be based in Congressman Hall's Carmel office, will supervise all operations of the Congressional offices in Washington, DC, and in Carmel and Goshen, NY.

"Susan has a deep knowledge of the 19th Congressional District, of my office operations and of the important legislative issues that the House will consider when it convenes in January," said Hall.  "She is well prepared to lead my staff and be my senior adviser."

Hall added that it is especially important during these difficult economic times to maintain strong connections with his constituents and be accessible to them. He said that having his Chief of Staff based in the Carmel office will help him do that.

Hall also announced that Jim Bradley has joined his Washington, DC, office as Legislative Director.  Bradley, a graduate of Bowdoin College, previously served for nine years on the legislative staff of U.S. Rep. Tom Allen (ME-1), most recently in the position of Legislative Director.
