Gus holds town-hall meeting at local gas station PDF Print E-mail

On Friday, Gus held an informal town meeting with constituents at a local gas station. Gus had a chance to gain input from people who are affected by high gas prices and also offered cost saving tips while seeking advice on solutions. He even pumped gas for some customers.

Tampa's Fox-13 covered the meeting along with WFLA 970 news radio. On a lighter note, Comedy Central posted a comment about Gus' visit on their InDecision 2008 blog.

You may recall that Gus was one of 48 members of the House of Representatives to defy the Speaker of the House and remain on the House floor demanding an up or down vote on energy alternatives back on August 1st.

Gus has long supported expanding domestic energy production as well as market based incentives for renewable resources.  Gus also supports a comprehensive approach to energy, including, drilling in ANWR, extracting oil from shale, coal-to-liquid, clean coal technology, solar and wind, conservation, incentives and prizes for energy innovation, nuclear power, and expanding refining capacity.
