Southwest Florida Office Opens |
Businesswomen in Southwest Florida hava a powerful ally now with the recent establishment of a local branch of the Florida Women's Business Center in Fort Myers. It is located in the Southwest Florida Enterprise Center (SWFEC), which is locacted close to downtown Fort Myers and Interstate 75. The SWFEC recognized that the FWBC services aligned well with its own and generously donated office space. Local businesswomen, Deborah Shane is the Business Development Manager for the Ft. Myers branch. Her role is to provide a combination of small business training, one-on-one counseling and outreach/marketing of the program. |

Florida Women's Business Center featured on CBS Evening News |
The Florida Women's Business Center was spotlighted on the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. CBS took great strides in getting to know us by coming out to our center and filming our beautiful facility, interviewing our Director Jennifer Brin Kovach and two of our clients Adrianna Martin and Yolanda Goldwire. This was an extraordinary opportunity for us to share with the nation the needs of the small business owner, how the state of economy directly impacts them and the resources our center has available to help them. |
Wachovia Donates $20,000 to Center |
Wachovia Foundation has donated $20,000 to the Center for Technology, Enterprise, & Development (TED Center), a agency devoted to helping individuals gain the knowledge and technical skills necessary to begin and grow their businesses. A portion of the Wachovia donation is designated to the TED Center’s Florida Women’s Business Center (FWBC), a program dedicated to the individual professional development of women in business. |
