Wednesday, May 13, 2009 Welcome To Martinsville's SCORE Chapter SCORE, "Counselors To America's Small Business", is a nonprofit association dedicated to providing, NO-COST, personalized, confidential face-to-face counseling to help you start-up a new business, secure financing or operate, manage and/or expand an existing business. Our SCORE volunteers consist of working and retired business owners, executives and professionals donating their time and expertise, in any number of disciplines (accounting, marketing, law, procurement, manufacturing, sales, etc.) as business counselors and mentors. What is the SCORE Association? The SCORE Association is a nonprofit association comprised of approximately 11,000 volunteer business counselors throughout the U.S. and its territories. There are 389 SCORE chapters in urban, suburban and rural communities. SCORE members are trained to serve as counselors and mentors to aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners. These services are offered at no fee, as a community service. SCORE was formed in 1964 and over 7 million Americans have used SCORE services. Are business secrets safe with SCORE? Yes. All SCORE business counselors honor the client's right to proprietary and confidential information. Client information remains confidential. All SCORE counselors abide by an association Code Of Ethics, which includes protecting the confidences between client and counselor. Each year, counselors reaffirm their commitment to the Code Of Ethics. When can I get help from SCORE? Our counselors are on-site each Thursday from noon until 1:00. Walk-in clients are welcome at that time. You can call for an appointment at another time if Thursdays do not agree with your schedule.
