Press Release of Senator Lugar Indiana communities receive $120,470 for fire prevention Wednesday, August 12, 2009 U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar announced today that the two Indiana communities will receive fire prevention grants totaling $120,470. The grants are through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program for fire prevention and safety.   The following departments received funding:   Organization City Amount Cataract Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. Spencer $57,000 Letts Community Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. Greensburg $63,470   In Fiscal Year 2008 AFG was administered by FEMA’s Grant Programs Directorate in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration.
