Press Release of Senator Lugar Lugar secures $1 million for USI in Senate bill Thursday, July 30, 2009 U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar secured $1,000,000 for advanced manufacturing and engineering equipment at the University of Southern Indiana.   The funds were included in the Senate Energy and Water Development Appropriations bill that passed the Senate last night and will be used for equipment in the new Business and Engineering Center for coursework in robotics and advanced manufacturing.   The same funding, secured by Representative Brad Ellsworth, is included in the House of Representatives’ bill.   The funding still must survive a conference between the House and the Senate and the President signing the bill into law.   ###
