Carmel, NY – U.S. Representative John Hall (D-NY-19) announced today that he will be hosting a new “Congress On Your Corner” program in order to increase his accessibility for constituents throughout the 19th District.  The “Congress On Your Corner” series will allow Hudson Valley families to share their thoughts and concerns directly with Hall in their own community.

 

“For too long, too many people have felt ignored and alienated by the government and their representatives,” said Hall.  “It is critical for elected officials to reach out to our constituents and to actually show up in their town.”

 

In the past six months, Hall has been traveling throughout the 19th district, holding a number of “Community Congress” public forums on issues including health care and alternative energy.

 

The “Congress On Your Corner” program, however, will allow families from around the Hudson Valley to meet informally with Hall, express their opinions, discuss their concerns and bring casework for Hall and his staff.

 

“My constituents should know that I am here to listen and to help.  The Congress On Your Corner program will help bring more Hudson Valley residents into the democratic process,” Hall added.

 

Hall’s premiere “Congress On Your Corner” event will be held Saturday, July 7th at the Stop n’ Shop in Beekman.  Future “Congress On Your Corner” meetings will be announced to the media in advance and posted on Hall’s website: http://www.johnhall.house.gov/congressonyourcorner.asp
