While we can all agree on the importance of providing access to affordable, quality health care,we ultimately must choose between a system that enables patients and doctors to make decisions about care and the undesirable alternative of a government-run system that provides limited – if any – choice for individuals.

In Congress – whether visiting with constituents, meeting with his Agricultural Advisory Board, or working with pork producers, corn growers, and a host of other Minnesotans – Congressman John Kline is continually impressed by the work ethic and common decency of those in our farming community.

In an effort to make sure your tax dollars are spent wisely and reform a broken system abused by both Democrats and Republicans, a growing number of members of Congress are not requesting earmarks.

Last week in Congress, we saw what can happen when Democrats reach out and work with Republicans to pass essential emergency funding legislation on behalf of our troops and all Americans, legislation that includes historic improvements to the GI Bill.

Memorial Day is a time to commemorate our fallen soldiers.

Congress needs to examine ways to increase domestic production, explore long-term energy solutions, and advance a real energy plan that increases American supplies in all forms.
