WEST CENTRAL IRAQ - U.S. Marines have unearthed a remote desert grave in this war-torn country and found the remains of long-missing Navy pilot Capt. Michael Scott Speicher of Florida.  U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson helped in efforts to continue the search over much of the past decade.

Make 'blacklisting' of cities unlawful

Nelson: Stop the oil flippers!

 

From The palm beach post - U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson is backing President Barack Obama’s efforts to stop oil “speculators” from driving up gas prices but doesn’t want him to stop there.

 

Federal regulators are considering curbing the sales of energy futures by investors and are trying to shed light on swapping of contracts outside by hedge fund managers and traders.

 

The administration should go further and return the law to pre-Enron era that left a “loophole,” Nelson wrote to in a letter to Obama today.

 

“We shouldn’t be allowing profiteers to flip oil contracts like condominiums,” he wrote.

 

Nelson’s filed a bill to close the loophole and require that all energy futures be traded on regulated exchanges like the New York Mercantile Exchange.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - With an estimated 100,000-or-more pythons roaming the Everglades, U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson asked the nation’s federal lands czar to allow deputized agents and volunteers into the national park this winter to kill as many of the menacing snakes as possible.

Obama taps Bolden to run NASA

First results in on tainted drywall

 

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson has received the first test results on Chinese-made drywall found in an unknown number of Florida homes. The results show the defective drywall contains three materials not found in drywall made in the U.S., including sulfur. The Environmental Protection Agency says more testing is needed to see whether the drywall is causing health problems and the corrosion of metal fixtures inside homes.
