U. S. Rep. John Hall Debuts Congressional Website
Wednesday, April 4, 2007
WASHINGTON, D. C. - U. S. Representative John Hall finally debuted his official Congressional website this week. Located at www.johnhall.house.gov, the site provides an enormous amount of information about Hall's work in Congress and New York's 19th Congressional District.

"I'm pleased that my Congressional website is available for the public to visit and use as a resource," said Hall. "It's important for people to know that this is a one-stop communications center which will help them keep informed about what's going on in our nation's capital and around our District. The website also gives individuals a number of opportunities to air their ideas and views."

Besides offering full contact information for Hall's Washington, D. C. Congressional office and his two New York District offices in Goshen and Carmel, Hall's website provides an overview of the 19th Congressional District, including a map showing the district's border, facts about the five counties within the district, demographics, and colleges in and around the district.

Much of Hall's website is given over to legislative issues, bills he has sponsored or co-sponsored since taking office and the business of Congress. Through the site visitors can find information about past and pending bills, votes and current proceedings in the House of Representatives. A link is also provided that can bring visitors to C-Span's 'live' feed of the House and to the Congressional Record. Also, there are links to the various House committees and to the Senate Legislative calendar. The statements Hall has made from the floor of the House are available online here as well.

Most importantly, Hall's Congressional website gives visitors the opportunity to email Hall and participate in an online poll about what they may feel is the most important issue facing Congress today. Results of the poll will be released in the near future.

In addition to the announcement of the upcoming series of forums devoted to energy independence around the District, there is a schedule of Hall's "Congress on the Corner" public meetings on the website.

Hall added that news releases, photos, legislative activity and schedule information will be frequently updated on the website, and that more ideas for the website are in the works.
