Goddard Space Flight Center is a world class facility whose work has led to a number of important scientific discoveries. Congressman Hoyer is fully committed to preserving this essential Center which is significant both as a national research facility and as a regional employer. And, Rep. Hoyer is committed to taking the appropriate measures to ensure that the Hubble Space Telescope, managed and operated at Goddard, remains viable, thus preserving its unique role in broadening our scientific understanding of the observable universe. Last year Rep. Hoyer has secured nearly $300 million in federal funds to provide for a servicing mission to the Hubble Space Telescope and he is committed to ensuring that the full amount is used to support this mission.
