Today, Congressman Lamborn (Colorado Springs) participated in a rally and a press conference hosted by Vets for Freedom and Families United for Our Troops and Their Mission which honored hundreds of veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan as well as Gold Star Families who have lost loved ones in theater and Blue Star Families who currently have loved ones defending our nation.

“Today, we saw hundreds of veterans and families of those who have been lost fighting the Global War on Terrorism come together to demonstrate their support for our mission in Iraq and Afghanistan. These individuals know first-hand the dangers, the threat, and the sacrifices it takes to win the fight against terrorism,” Congressman Doug Lamborn said. “It is important that we, in Congress, realize that the best way to support our troops is to let them finish the job they are doing by ensuring they have all the funding and resources they need to get the job done. We owe it to our troops, our veterans, and their families not to let partisan politics in Washington destroy the progress they have made. The message I hope this rally sends to our troops is that we will not let congressional micromanagement and mismanagement stand in our way to victory.”

Approximately 250 Iraq and Afghanistan veterans from 43 states and 350 Gold and Blue Star families came together at the Upper Senate Park to honor our service men and women. Vets for Freedom hosted this rally for the members from the House and Senate in a bipartisan event to demonstrate support for the troops and their mission.
