Lamborn Supports Lobbying Reform

Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-Colorado Springs) today issued the following statement on House passage of a lobby reform bill:

“This reform bill will provide greater transparency and better disclosure for the legislative process and is quite similar to legislation passed under Republican control in the 109th Congress last year. I support efforts to open the process and protect against corruption in the people’s government.”

The final package would require federal candidates and committees to disclose when registered lobbyists bundle $15,000 in contributions on a semiannual basis. It would also require lobbyists to file quarterly, electronic reports. The bill passed in the House by a vote of 411-8 and is now headed to the Senate.
