“Allowing 12 million people to break the laws of this country without consequences will not solve the problems facing our immigration system, nor will it discourage future offenders, nor will it make our nation safer. The American people are demanding real immigration reform, not amnesty cloaked in national security rhetoric, and I am pleased that my colleagues in the Senate have listened to them, for the second time. It is my sincere hope that we can move towards finding a real solution, one which strengthens our borders and improves our security.”
