Lamborn to Serve on Board of Visitors for the United States Air Force Academy

Rep. Doug Lamborn (Colorado Springs) was appointed, on Wednesday, by the Speaker of the House to serve on the Board of Visitors of the United States Air Force Academy. The Board, which consists of 15 members, meets at least four times a year to provide guidance and recommendations for the Academy.

“Serving on the Board of Visitors for the United States Air Force Academy, which I have the privilege of representing in the House of Representatives, is an extraordinary honor,” said Rep. Lamborn. “Like the other board members, I believe it is critical that the young men and women who give willingly of themselves to serve their nation receive the best education, equipment, and environment available. Providing good instruction ensures that they will be properly prepared for the situations with which they will be confronted. This will guarantee that the Air Force continues to have the finest possible officers.”

Rep. Lamborn is one of four board members appointed by the Speaker of the House and will serve a minimum of one year. The board provides advice to the Secretary of Defense regarding among other things, the curriculum, social climate, fiscal affairs, morale, and academic methods of the Academy.
