Congressman Doug Lamborn Presents Colorado Springs Native, Brandon Wold, with Congressional Award

Colorado Springs, CO – Congressman Doug Lamborn (R-Colorado Springs) presented the Congressional Award Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals to Brandon Wold of Colorado Springs, on Saturday, April 28th during the annual Congressional Art Competition.

The Congressional Award, earned by young people dedicated to improving themselves and the community in which they live, was established in a bipartisan effort by Congress in 1979 as a way of affirming the ideals upon which this nation was founded. Each year, medals are presented to those who have excelled in the areas of public service, personal development, athletics, and exploration.

“I am honored to present this year’s award to a young man from Colorado’s Fifth Congressional District who is clearly committed to bettering himself, his state, and his country,” said Rep. Lamborn. “It is people like Brandon Wold, an outstanding individual with immeasurable drive and focus, who enable this nation to achieve greatness.”

To earn the Congressional Award, Wold volunteered over 400 hours of community service through the National Honors Society, worked a part-time job with a landscaping company, joined the track team, earning a medal at the State Championships, and immersed himself in another culture, all while excelling in his academic endeavors.
