Institutional Agreements

The Laboratory has Institutional Agreements with Northern New Mexico College, New Mexico Highlands University, the University of New Mexico–Los Alamos, and the Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation to address strategic regional education and workforce needs throughout northern New Mexico.

  • LANL Foundation -  Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Programs
    • Education Outreach Grants - to support initiatives in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in northern New Mexico.
    • Los Alamos Employees Scholarship Fund Program - LANS matches employee contributions annually to provide scholarship support to students in northern New Mexico who are pursuing undergraduate degrees in fields serving the Laboratory.
    • Northern New Mexico Math and Science Academy - Supporting professional development for teachers
    • Regional Education Quality Center - Establish and maintain the center in cooperation with New Mexico Public Education Department and Espanola Public Schools.
  • LANL Foundation - University of California Nonresident Fee Scholarship Program to provide scholarships for students from northern New Mexico who are admitted to one of the UC campuses and would otherwise be required to pay out-of-state tuition.
  • LANL Foundation Education Outreach Programs - to support regional STEM programs.
  • Northern New Mexico College - for the development of baccalaureate education and nursing programs.
  • New Mexico Highlands University - for an endowed chair in the computer sciences department.
  • University of New Mexico-Los Alamos - for the development and implementation of the Applied Technologies Degree Program in Electro-Mechanical Technology, Manufacturing, and Nanotechnology.
