Foreign Policy

As Pennsylvania's Senator, I'm committed to ensuring safety at home and fostering respect for America abroad so that our children have the opportunity to live in a world of peace and prosperity. The foreign policy challenges our nation faces today are immense and include successfully drawing down our combat forces in Iraq, reversing a sharply deteriorating situation in Afghanistan and western Pakistan, halting Iran’s rapid progress in its nuclear program and bolstering U.S. efforts to combat the grave threat of nuclear terrorism.

In the 111th Congress, as a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, I am looking forward to serving as Chairman of the Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs Subcommittee. I plan on drawing more attention to the issues facing this region of the world, especially terrorism and non-proliferation; U.S. foreign assistance programs; and the promotion of U.S. trade and exports, among others.

On the sidebar you will find links to "Bob’s Blog" which will provide details from my trips overseas, as well as links to press releases, videos, and other useful information. I hope you will take a moment to contact me using the form below to share your story or opinion on foreign policy or any other matter.
