Washington, DC - Today, the Environment and Public Works Committee approved the nominations of Gary Guzy to be Deputy Director of the Office of Environmental Quality (Council on Environmental Quality), and John R. Fernandez to be Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development, at the Department of Commerce.

The EPW Committee held a nomination hearing for Mr. Fernandez on July 29 and a hearing for Mr. Guzy on August 4. The nominations were approved by voice vote today and now go to the full Senate for consideration.
