Congressman Geoff Davis with Washington, D.C. Interns, Summer 2008.
Qualified college students can obtain internships in the Washington, D.C. office, the Ft. Mitchell district office, and the La Grange, Williamstown, Maysville, and Ashland field offices. These internships give students the opportunity to observe and learn about the functions of the U.S. House of Representatives, as well as the Congressman’s work representing the Fourth Congressional District. Interns are an essential part of a busy Congressional office, and will assist staff with a variety of tasks, such as:
- Day-to-day office duties
- Data entry
- Guiding tours
- Working with various government agencies
- Constituent correspondence
- Researching and tracking legislation
- Responding to constituent requests
- Assisting with special projects, including research
- Assisting with constituent casework
There is no application deadline.
Interns are accepted during the
spring, summer, and fall. However,
there are a limited number of interns
that may work in the office at any
given time, so we encourage you to
submit your application as soon as
possible. Priority consideration is
given to students from Kentucky’s
Fourth District.
The internship program is open to all area college students, regardless of major. Interested candidates should fill out an application and contact the Fort Mitchell office at (859) 426-0080.
