Public Affairs' Exhibit Management is an active part of USAEC's outreach program. On a national scale, the USAEC Exhibit Manager coordinates approximately 20-30 exhibits at various conferences each year. The Center's exhibit schedule is flexible and evolves throughout the year as new locations, themes, and events unfold. For some of the routinely attended national conferences, exhibit planning may start more than a year in advance. Local community events also occasionally require USAEC exhibits, as well as the Army's Earth Day celebrations and the Secretary of the Army Environmental Awards. With this active schedule, the Exhibit Manager is often planning for many events at once.
All USAEC exhibits, both static and electronic, are fielded through the Exhibit Manager. An USAEC exhibit is considered to be any poster, display, or electronic media brought to a conference, meeting or other event. USAEC divisions must first gain approval from the Exhibit Manager to field the exhibit, then register for the specific event and often update or create new exhibit graphics, strategies and literature. The exhibit materials are then signed out and conveyed to the exhibit sites. An 8'X10' curved wall or tabletop display is signed out to the USAEC division as requested, as well as other outreach material in support of the exhibit, including fact sheets, threatened and endangered species bookmarks, and program specific CDs or brochures. Oftentimes, joint USAEC displays are set up for these events. USAEC may also host or co-host some of these environmental conferences.
