Navajo code Talker Program
1942- The Navajo code Talker Program was developed and deployed by the U.S. Marine Corps. By 1945 the code was used in both theaters of War, 400 Native American Navajo members of the Corps were encoding, transmitting, and decoding English messages in the complex language of Navajo Indians. The code talkers have been credited with playing a significant part in the Marine Corps victory on Iwo Jima. So successful was this method of encryption and communication that it was employed in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.
