Senator Dorgan believes that investing in education is a true investment in the future of North Dakota. A graduate of a rural school himself, he has long been a champion of rural education and has worked to make sure that federal education legislation addresses the unique concerns of rural communities.
He has worked to expand opportunities for higher education in the state including community colleges, tribally controlled colleges, and technical programs. Through his work on the Senate Appropriations Committee, Dorgan has worked to bring millions of dollars in federal research funding to North Dakota’s universities, transforming them into world-class research facilities.
From guaranteeing that every child receives quality K-12 instruction to expanding higher education opportunities, Senator Dorgan is committed to making sure that every North Dakotan has access to the best education possible.
