Joseph Chow is the Senior Software Engineer for Aquilent. He is currently responsible for administering the database of the project MARS (Medical Article Record System) at the National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, MD.

Joe has been with Aquilent since June of 1998. Since his arrival there he has been involved in wide range of tasks from migrating and optimizing the potential production database to aiding and debugging team members' data interface coding. He is currently involved in the deployment of the MARS II system.

Prior to Aquilent, Joe had eleven years of experience as a software developer working for iQuest, PRC, CSC, SMC and Carson Associates. Mr. Chow holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas.


Current Projects

Current assignments include developing data collection tool in Java language that gathers terms deemed suitable for given medical scenarios / problems. Subsequently developed tool will base on the terms entered, generate queries and send to available NLM search engines. Results will be saved to MySQL tables for offline analysis. Other responsibilities include maintaining MARS / WebMARS / Spinoff SQL Server databases.
