Hall Announces $1.4 Million Grant for Stewart Airport
May 22, 2007
Washington, DC – Today Congressman John Hall (D-NY19) announced a $1,463,000 U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) grant for Stewart International Airport in New Windsor, New York.

“This grant award is great news for Stewart Airport and the entire Hudson Valley,” said Hall.  “By helping to rehabilitate Taxiway G, this funding will improve safety and operational capacity at the airport, and pave the way for Stewart to reach its full potential.  This announcement represents a strong step forward in making the airport a strong driver of economic growth in the Hudson Valley.”

The federal funding, which is administered by the Federal Aviation Administration, will be used to rehabilitate Taxiway G at Stewart Airport.  The existing pavement condition of the taxiway requires work to ensure overall airport safety.

Hall serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Aviation and has made increasing access and supporting smart growth at Stewart Airport a top priority.
