ISCCP C2 README The ISCCP C2 data were originally archived on 6250 tape with a year of data on a tape. The granule layout described here is different from the original structure on tape. A year of data has been divided into 12 granules (1 granule per month). Each granule contains nine files (00, 03, 06, 09, 12, 15, 18, 21 and ALL GMT). The metadata that is included with each granule describes the data for the entire year. For example, granule c2_8503 will include metadata that describes all the data for 1985. This relates to the original structure of the data on tape. The following is a description of the granule naming conventions used for both tape media and FTP.
