African Art Book Club: The House at Sugar Beach: In Search of a Lost African Childhood

Author Helene Cooper will read from her memoir and lead discussion on Thursday, September 10 from 4:00 to 5:30pm in our lecture hall. Book signing to follow.

In her poignant memoir, THE HOUSE AT SUGAR BEACH: In Search of a Lost African Childhood, New York Times White House correspondent Helene Cooper tells the haunting story of a privileged Liberian childhood torn apart by civil war and exile, and of her return to her native country after two decades in order to reconnect with the foster sister who had been left behind.
