House Committee on Appropriations
Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROVIDING WRITTEN
TESTIMONY FOR FISCAL YEAR 2010

The subcommittee will not hold public witness hearings to receive testimony from outside organizations.  However, the subcommittee will include in the official hearing record written statements submitted by organizations with an interest in Federal programs under the subcommittee’s jurisdiction.  This testimony will be reviewed and given full consideration when the subcommittee prepares the fiscal year 2010 appropriations bill.

Written statements must:

  • Not exceed ten pages,
  • Be singled-spaced on letter size paper,
  • Be at least 12 point font and have one inch margins,
  • Clearly indicate your name, title, and institutional affiliation (if any), telephone number, and email address at the top of the first page,
  • Not include color and/or detailed photos since the testimony will be photographically reproduced,
  • Charts and other supplemental materials may be provided, however printing of such material is at the discretion of the subcommittee.

Current mail handling measures have complicated Congressional mail procedures, hence the subcommittee strongly recommends submitting testimony via electronic mail to fs.approp@mail.house.gov or by fax to (202) 226-6692.

Should you prefer to submit testimony through conventional mail:

Please submitt one original, unstapled copy to the subcommittee office:

Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government
Chairman José E. Serrano
B-300 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

Testimonies must be received by 5:00pm on May 20, 2009

If you have any questions please contact the subcommittee at (202) 226-669, or fs.approp@mail.house.gov
