Highway Reauthorization funding requests Route 23, Sussex Borough Realignment and Papakating Creek Bridge: $12,000,000 This project includes the construction of a new roadway that will connect the intersection of Lower Unionville Road and existing Route 23. The project will also include the replacement of the structure over Papakating Creek, and contribute to roadway improvements along Route 23 to improve vertical and horizontal geometry. The project is designed to be bicycle/pedestrian compatible. NJ-PA Lackawanna Cutoff Rail Restoration This appropriation would be used to reinstate the rail service on the Lackawanna Cutoff from Port Morris, NJ to Scranton, PA. The project was also authorized under SAFETEA-LU and TEA-21. New Jersey Urban Core This appropriation would be applied to several transit upgrades throughout New Jersey’s northern counties, including the Meadowlands Rail Connection, Lackawanna Cutoff, Newark-Elizabeth Rail-Link, Secaucus Junction, and Hudson-Bergen Light rail. Route 57, CR 519 Intersection Improvements: $8,450,000 This project will provide operational and safety improvements such as widening the road to provide turning lanes and shoulders at the Rt. 57 and CR 519 Intersection. The project also includes replacement of two structures over the Lopatcong Creek and the demolition and restructuring of the intersection immediately east and immediately north of current vicinity of the intersection. West Brook Road Bridge over Wanaque Reservoir: $10,000,000 The West Brook Road Bridge carries West Brook Road over the Wanaque Reservoir in Ringwood, NJ. The West Brook Road Bridge is faulty at best, with deteriorating substructure and inadequate geometry. Lacking lane widths, shoulders, and sidewalks puts in question the safety of the bridge. The existing bridge will be replaced with a new bridge on a new alignment. Roadway geometry will be improved as will the existing approaches. Route 17, Central Avenue Bridge, Rochelle Park: $7,500,000 This project will provide the for the proposed bridge replacement which was identified by Bridge Management System. The overall condition of the bridge is serious, with low appraisal ratings for structural elevation and the inadequate deck geometry. New Jersey Transit, Ridgewood Train Station: $5,000,000 This project includes the construction of high-level platforms and other improvements to the Ridgewood, NJ train station. The project improves accessibility to NJ TRANSIT trains by providing barrier-free access to all riders, including those with disabilities. Related Documents: Related Files:
