***********************************************************************
Ducks Unlimited is soliciting nominations for the 2006 DU Conservation
Achievement Awards to be awarded March 24 at the N. American Wildlife and
Natural Resources Conference in Columbus, Ohio.

Awards honor individuals from the U.S., Canada or Mexico who have made
exceptional contributions to wetlands and waterfowl conservation in N.
America. These are usually long-term contributions; however,
extraordinary accomplishments over a shorter period of time are often
recognized.

Categories are (1) federal (2 awards: employee of government agencies;
and elected representative); (2) state/provincial (1 award; employee or
elected official); (3) research/technical (government agencies or
universities); (4) conservation/private citizens (community leaders who
have contributed through works on their own lands or in the larger
conservation arena; (5) communications (professionals who have contributed
through print, radio, or visual media).

Nominations can be submitted by letter or email (preferred) by JANUARY 31.
Nominations usually consist of up to 2 pages of single-spaced text
highlighting nominee's contributions to waterfowl and wetlands
conservation. Nominations can further be supplemented with two additional
letters of support.

Nominations should be sent to

Announcing the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation's new campaign for the
coast!!!

LPBF has a plan for a sustainable coast and I would be happy to schedule a

alike in our Lake Pontchartrain Basin. If you are a group of 5 or 50 I
have the story for you!! Meanwhile if you would pass the word around I'd
appreciate it. LPBF wants talk to civic, business, scouts, school classes
and PTA's. Call or email me to come out and fill you in on our ideas to
