CALIPSO data may be searched and ordered using one of the two LATIS ordering
tools - a Java-based tool or an HTML-only based tool. These tools are
accessible from the Data Ordering Tools
Page, which includes system requirements and limitations for each tool. Use
the Java tool where possible as it generally runs faster.
Obtaining CALIPSO Data Access Permission
New users of these order tools should:
set up an account using the "New User" option on the tool's
initial page to access the publicly available data
CALIPSO Science Team members who wish to access restricted data should:
establish an account using the "New User" option on the tool's
initial page if not currently a user, and then
contact the ASDC, either by e-mail
(larc@eos.nasa.gov) or by phone
(757-864-8656), to have the CALIPSO Science Team permission added to their
account.
The same account is used with either the Java tool or the HTML tool.
Using the Search and Order Tools
Once in the order tool of your choice, to access CALIPSO data:
Choose CALIPSO in the list of projects.
Select "Apply" in the Java tool or "Refine Lists" in
the HTML tool. The available data sets will become visible in the Data Sets
window.
To see the files available in one or more data sets, select the data sets
of interest from the list. Additional search criteria such as date or
location may be specified if desired.
Select "Search" in the Java Tool or "Get Results" in
the HTML tool.
Select the files to be ordered.
Select "Read Software" to obtain a copy of the software with the order.
Select "Submit Order".
