Latest Information on H1N1 Influenza ("Swine Flu")Updated on Thursday, August 6 at 1:15 p.m. On June 11, 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) raised the worldwide pandemic alert level to Phase 6 in response to the ongoing global spread of H1N1 Influenza ("Swine Flu"). A Phase Six pandemic declaration is based on the sustained worldwide spread of H1N1, not the severity of illness caused by the virus.
