• "Dial Painters Project: Argonne National Laboratory's Documentation of Radium Hazards to Workers." - Brief history of gradual recognition that radium posed a hazard to workers in the dial-painting trade.   
• "Closing the Circle: The Department of Energy and Environmental Management, 1942-1994." Draft manuscript.  Overview examines origin and historical development of environmental issues like waste management, waste repositories, cleanup of the complex, and application of federal environmental laws. 
• "History Briefs: Critical Issues for the Department of Energy." Draft manuscript. Topical chapters examine history of significant DOE issues: institutional origins, internal organization, nuclear weapons complex, headquarters-field relations, energy policy, civilian and defense nuclear waste repositories, and science and the national labs.  (Limited number of copies available)

Site Histories

• Lawrence and His Laboratory examines the history of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from its founding in 1931 to the death of death of Ernest O. Lawrence, founder of the lab, in 1958. Oak Ridge National Laboratory: The First Fifty Years and Swords to Plowshares: A Short History of Oak Ridge National Laboratory document the history of the laboratory from its origins with the Manhattan Project.
• Origins of the Nevada Test Site (pdf) - written for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Nevada Test Site, details the origins of the Nevada Test Site from pre-history to the first test series, Ranger, in January and February 1951.
• Proving the Principle: A History of the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory, 1949-1999 documents the history of the site since its beginnings as the National Reactor Testing Station.
