AESDirect Upgrade - New Date Format

AESDirect has changed the format in which the Departure Date is entered and validated. This change will makes the AESDirect system more consistent in its handling of dates.

The Departure Date field, in the Shipment Information Section, has been changed to same format as the Date fields in the Shipment Reporting Service. All Dates in AESDirect will have to be entered as MM/DD/YY. If you do not enter a date that matches this format, you will receive an immediate error message informing you of your mistake.

If a shipment or template that was previously submitted with dates in the old YYMMDD format is retrieved, the date will automatically be converted to the new format.

EDI Filers: This Change does not affect EDI Filers. You should continue to send dates in the format YYMMDD (As specified in the EDI mappings listed in the developers center)

WebLink Filers: WebLink filers may send dates in either format YYMMDD or MM/DD/YY. Please note that in the new format day and month must be padded with a 0 if they are 1 digit long (ex: 07/01/01 is acceptable, but 7/1/01 is not)
