Leahy, Sessions Announce Updated Subcommittee Rosters
WASHINGTON (Thursday, May 21, 2009) – Senate Judiciary Committee
Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Ranking Member Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.)
Thursday announced new membership lists for the Committee’s
subcommittees. Leahy and Sessions also announced the return of the
Subcommittee on Human Rights and the Law, which was first established
during the 110th Congress.
The full Committee approved the Subcommittee memberships during an
executive business meeting Thursday.
The seven Judiciary Committee Subcommittees include:
Administrative Oversight and the Courts; Antitrust, Competition Policy
and Consumer Rights; The Constitution; Crime and Drugs; Immigration,
Refugees and Border Security; Terrorism and Homeland Security; and Human
Rights and the Law.

Administrative Oversight and the Courts (Ratio – 6:4)

judgeships; (4) Bankruptcy; (5) Administrative practices and procedures;
(6) Legal reform and liability issues; (7) Oversight of the Department
of Justice grant programs, as well as government waste and fraud; (8)
