Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing
Scheduled
For OLC, National Security Assistant Attorney General Nominees
WASHINGTON (Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009) – Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman
Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) on Tuesday noticed a hearing to consider
nominations for two key leadership positions at the Department of
Justice. The Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on February
25, at 2:00 p.m., to consider the nominations of Dawn Johnsen to be the
Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel, and David
Kris to be the Assistant Attorney General for the National Security
Division.
The Senate has already confirmed Attorney General
Eric Holder, and the Judiciary Committee has held hearings on three
additional Department of Justice nominees:
David W. Ogden to be the Deputy Attorney General,
Thomas Perrelli to be the Associate Attorney General, and
Elena Kagan to be the Solicitor General.
Johnsen and Kris have both completed the bipartisan, Committee
questionnaire, which is available online. Additional documents

The hearing will be held on Wednesday, February 25, at 2:00 p.m. in room
226 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building, and will be chaired by
Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.). Members of the press,
