May, '90 - March, '92 : Employed by a private surveying/engineering firm.
March, '92 : Hired by USGS as an entry-level Hydrologic Technician for Potomac NAWQA.
Water quality, automatic samplers, stream gaging, and surveying.
Current/Recent Projects and Duties
Field Office Chief, Western MD Field Office
-Responsible
for the administrative and technical
execution of the hydrologic data collection
program in western Maryland.
-Provide training and mentoring for
other district hydrologic technicians
in the district in various aspects of
the job such as water quality sampling,
instrumentation, and data processing.
-Participate in discipline technical
reviews in other districts across the
USGS.
Lead Hydrologic Technician for PODL NAWQA, 2001 study unit start-up.
ICPRB nutrient/sediment monitoring project
on Conococheague Creek.
-Responsible for all field and data
management activities at this autosampler
site nr. Hagerstown, MD
Potomac Monitoring Project - Western Area
-Responsible
for field activities on the three western
sites of this QW project with Md. Dept.
of Environment for TMDL constituents
(nitrogen, phosphorus, and suspended
sediment) monitoring for subsequent
model development.
-Sideling Hill Creek nr. Bellegrove,
MD (autosampler site).
-Cacapon River nr. Great Cacapon, WV
(autosampler site).
-Potomac River at Shepherdstown, WV
(manual sampling site).
Small stream gaging field trip and general work in support of field office operations
