TWO DISA EXECUTIVES RECOGNIZED WITH PRESIDENTIAL AWARD

ARLINGTON, VA., October 6, 2008 - Defense Information Systems Agency senior executives recognized this year for Presidential Rank Awards are Jack Penkoske, director of Manpower, Personnel and Security, recipient of the Distinguished Executive Award; and Richard Williams, acting principal director, Global Information Grid Enterprise Services Engineering, who received the Meritorious Executive award.

"Jack Penkoske and Rich Williams both represent the very best of senior executives across the entire Federal service," said Rear Adm. Elizabeth Hight, DISA's Acting Director. "Their service is superb and is especially critical considering we are a nation at war. I'm proud to serve with them." The Presidential Rank Awards are awarded annually and are the highest recognition that career senior executive service members can receive. Penkoske was recognized for his leadership role in placing DISA at the forefront of human capital management within the federal government. Williams received the honor for leading the foundational engineering processes, guidance and standards to accelerate the Defense Department's movement toward net-centric warfare.

The rank of Distinguished Executive may only be awarded to one percent of the government-wide executive corps, and the rank of Meritorious Executive may only be awarded to five percent of Federal senior executives.
