Hall Announces Bill Naming Chester Post Office after Lt. Lou Allen
Monday, June 15, 2009
Chester, NY – U.S. Rep. John Hall (D-Dover) today stood with the family of 1st Lieutenant Lou Allen, to announce that he will be introducing legislation in Congress to rename the Chester Post Office in Lt. Allen's memory. Lt. Allen was killed in Iraq in 2005 by a mine explosion. He was 34 years old. Later this week, when Congress reconvenes, Hall will be formally introducing the legislation, which has already earned the support of the New York State Congressional Delegation.

"It is an honor to be able to go to Washington this week and introduce legislation to name the U.S. Post Office at 76 Brookside Avenue in Chester, NY, as the '1st Lieutenant Louis Allen Post Office'." Hall said. "Renaming this Post Office is not about mourning Lou's death, but about celebrating his life. Lt. Allen was a pillar of this community and blessed the lives he touched. I am glad that we have the support of the entire New York State Congressional delegation, who have all signed on as original cosponsors of my bill."
