Washington, DC – U.S. Rep. John Hall (D-NY19) issued the following statement today on the arrests last night of four suspected terrorists from Newburgh who were allegedly plotting to blowup military aircraft at Stewart Air National Guard Base and to detonate a bomb outside a Jewish temple in the Bronx.

"Working together, the FBI, state and local law enforcement did an exemplary job of investigating and apprehending these suspected terrorists. Their actions prevented what could have been devastating terrorist attacks on New York Air National Guard aircraft and personnel and a religious community. The threat of terrorist extremism is real, both here at home and abroad. These plots were despicable and I am grateful to the fine work of our federal and New York law enforcement that saved innocent lives and prevented disaster."
