Office of the Chief Financial Officer

The Office of the Chief Financial Officer has leadership responsibility for all finance functions, including contracting, strategic planning, business performance measures, accounting, and budgeting.

Mary G. Sprague, FEC Chief Financial Officer

Mary Sprague joined the Federal Election Commission March 23, 2009. She began her federal career in 1992 as a Presidential Management Intern with the Defense Information Systems Agency in Denver. She has also worked for the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Department of Energy Inspector General's office and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Prior to joining the FEC, Mary was the Budget Director for the General Services Administration, Public Buildings Service, managing a budget in excess of $9 billion. She has also served in the U.S. Army as a Signal Intelligence Analyst and is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute, in Monterey, CA, where she studied German. Mary received her B.A. in American Studies and English from Coe College, Cedar Rapids, IA, and her Masters in Public Administration from the University of Colorado. Most recently, Mary attended the Federal Executive Institute in 2008.
