Langevin Visits Gilbert Stuart Middle School

WARWICK, RI - Congressman Jim Langevin will tour the Gilbert Stuart Middle School in Providence and meet with administrators, educators and students on Friday, May 8. He will also be thanking the teachers and staff for their hard work on behalf of their students, in recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week, which runs from May 3 - 9.

“Educators are so important to the fabric of our state, and this week is an opportunity to thank them for their efforts,” said Langevin. “I look forward to seeing firsthand the instruction and learning happening at Gilbert Stuart.”

In this challenging economy, it is imperative to make strategic investments in education to help America become stronger, more productive and competitive.  The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, supported by Langevin and signed into law by President Obama on February 17, makes investments to modernize our schools, help the states avoid teacher layoffs and other education cutbacks, and make college more affordable.  Langevin continues to work towards strengthening our education system to ensure that teachers and students have the resources they need for success.
