BlazeSports Club Pasadena City of Pasadena Parks and Recreation / Pasadena, Texas

The City of Pasadena has a facility, The Vern Cox Center, dedicated to serving persons with disabilities through sports and recreation. As a BlazeSports Club designee in 2003, Pasadena has hopes of increasing their opportunities for competitive sports for both juniors and adults with physical disabilities. Currently they have a junior sports night that goes year round, alternating sports as the seasons alternate. They are looking to start a track and tennis program as part of their BlazeSports Club this spring. In early June each year they have a week long Junior Sports Camp, they have now renamed the camp BlazeSports Camp. Additionally they have rugby, adult basketball, softball, and football. The Texas Shootout, one of the largest wheelchair basketball tournaments in the nation, is hosted each year by Pasadena Parks and Recreation on Labor Day weekend.
