NCBO Delivers Biennial Report to Congress NCBO recently submitted a report to Congress describing the Office's programs and projects during 2007 and 2008. NCBO Hosting B-WET Grant Application Workshops NCBO will hold workshops in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., as well as webinars, to let potential applicants know the ins and outs of applying for B-WET grants. NCBO Hosts Fisheries Science Symposium NCBO recently held the 2009 Fisheries Science Symposium. The program that attendees received included abstracts on presentations on a variety of research areas that were enjoyed over the course of the two-day symposium. Chesapeake Bay Report Card Shows Improvements, Degradation The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science and EcoCheck, a NOAA-UMCES partnershop, have released the Bay report card for 2008. Overall, the health of the Bay earned a C-. A new stream health indicator was introduced, and report cards for individual tributaries are available. Reauthorization Bill Introduced in Congress On March 26, 2008, H.R. 1771, a bill to reauthorize the Chesapeake Bay Office of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, was introduced and referred to the House Natural Resource Committee.
