LADEE Mission Concept Review today @ Ames. Senior space people here to assess our spacecraft design: is it up to scratch?
LADEE team is preparing for Mission Concept Review to be held at NASA-ARC on 10th Dec. All hands on dec.
Mission Design run at GSFC ended today. Was seen as a success!
Team just checked out the integration and test facilities that will be used once it is built -- EM interference, thermal-vac, vibration :)
...Think 40 scientists & engineers in a small room trying to communicate every detail about the design; calculating, debating, geeking out.
My whole team is at NASA-Goddard doing a week long design run: to check that the design closes (nothing breaks the any laws of physics :)
hot topic right now... what is the minimum science data needed for success?
In weekly meeting today, my MEL was discussed, as well as a retreat for all the scientists and engineers to form a team.
All of my program partners from ARC, GSFC, HQ, MSFC, and Wallops are meeting up today for the Monthly Review - hi, everyone!
In my Tuesday weekly tag-up talking about my schedule... packed room!
Just presented an update on my progress at the Lunar Science Conf at NASA-Ames :)
My UV spectrometer will make observations of the lunar limb and lunar sun rise/set (when the lunar atmosphere will be occulting the Sun)
I have no idea why about 200 people decided in the last couple of hours to follow me(?), but welcome aboard our little journey to the Moon!
Going through my weekly tag-up meeting. Making plans for the upcoming Monthly Review in August.
Working on my Concept of Operations to describe how I will operate through all phases of the mission
One standard Science Orbit or multiple specialized Science Orbits? That is the question
My cousin, HTV, just did a successful pop test! I'm so proud!
My science payload will include three instruments: a neutral mass spectrometer, ultraviolet spectrometer, and a dust detector!
Talking about me in my weekly tag-up meeting. Discussing recent interactions with the instrument PIs.
Defining my science orbits further -- KISS or multiple different science orbits with instruments in different configurations?
