Historic Jamestowne, a part of Colonial National Historical Park (NHP), has been providing educational programs for many years. Focusing on Virginia’s Standards of Learning (SOLs) requirements for grades K-12, Historic Jamestowne offers both indoor classroom style programs and educational walking tours of the Historic Site.
Reserved Educational programs are available weekdays from October through May. There is a $30.00 fee for each program. For information on how to make a reservation for one of these programs to the Plan A Field Trip and then Reservations.
Groups unable to partake in a ranger-led program can explore the historic site on their own. Although Colonial NHP and Historic Jamestowne are National Fee Areas, educational institutions are eligible for a waiver of this entrance fee.
For more information about Jamestown's educational programs, reservations and entrance fee waivers for educational groups use the MORE link to the right.

LUNCH
Picnicking facilities are extremely limited. There are two areas with picnic tables, however neither have overhead shelters. Both of these picnic areas are in the public parking area.
Historic Jamestown is a "leave no trace" trash free area. All groups are expected to carry out what trash they bring in. It is suggested that schools groups bring trash bags with them so they can carry out their trash.

Did You Know?
Of the first 104 English settlers at Jamestown in 1607, four were boys. Several boys were sent to live with the Powhatans so they could learn the language and customs and then return to the English to become interpreters.
